Passionate Penne all’Arrabbiata
As all Italians have that fiery side to them, this recipe is to celebrate the passion and love of all Italians. Passionate Penne all’Arrabbiata (arrabbiata meaning angry) – is the spicy favourite of Italian cuisine which is hot, quick to make, with a great depth of flavour. Sure to fire up the kitchen and the bedroom đŸ˜‰
Ingredients
- 500g Penne pasta
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 500g tomato passata
- 3 tbsp Tomato puree
- 1 tbsp Peperoncino red chilli flakes
- Fresh basil, chopped, plus more for garnish
- Parmigiano Reggiano
- Salt & Pepper
Method
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add the pasta. Cook until al dente.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil and the garlic and cook, stirring, until golden, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the tomato passata, tomato puree, peperoncino chilli flakes and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the chopped basil.
Drain the pasta and add it to the sauce and mix well. Add generously Parmigiano Reggiano on top and more basil. Buon Appetito
